Our Story
Named After a Very Special Opossum
Petunia was rescued in Southern California as a baby and was unable to be released. She became an amazing educational ambassador for all opossums, especially loved by the children at summer camp programs. Though opossums have short life spans, we were blessed to have her for 3 wonderful years.
Her spirit of education and compassion lives on through our rescue, serving Medina County, Texas, and surrounding areas. We're a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal rescue that provides care until every animal finds their forever family — no matter how long it takes.
Our Mission
Petunia’s Rescued Friends is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal rescue serving Medina County, Texas, and the surrounding areas. Through our Adoption and Education Center and our loving network of foster homes, we provide care, compassion, and a safe place for animals rescued from all kinds of circumstances until they find their forever family, no matter how long it takes. As a donation-based organization, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community and private donations to continue our mission of “Help us, help them…”
"Help us, help them..."
