Our center serves as the heart of our mission. It's where rescued animals receive care and find their forever families, and where we educate the community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. Named after Petunia, our beloved opossum who was an amazing educational ambassador, this center carries on her legacy of teaching compassion through connection.
Our Programs
Education is the key to creating a more compassionate community for all animals.
Responsible Pet Ownership
Teaching children and families how to properly care for their pets, including nutrition, exercise, and regular vet visits.
Animal Welfare Awareness
Educating the community about the importance of spaying/neutering, microchipping, and adoption versus buying.
Youth Programs
Engaging young people through hands-on animal care, summer camp programs, and school visits with our education ambassadors.

Our Namesake
Petunia's Legacy
Petunia was a very special opossum rescued in Southern California as a baby. Unable to be released, she became an amazing educational ambassador, especially beloved by children at summer camp programs. Though opossums have short lifespans, Petunia's three years were filled with purpose and love. Our Education Center carries forward her mission of teaching compassion through connection with animals.
